Welcome!
January 2nd, 2008 by 1st Lt Prifogle
Dear Reader,
Greetings and welcome to my blog! I am 1st Lieutenant Lisbeth Prifogle, USMC. I will be deploying as a Supply Officer in the United States Marine Corps to Iraq.
Outside of being ‘The Ma’am’ I am a student in Antioch University’s MFA Creative Writing program based in Los Angeles. As part of the requirements for graduation, I will be keeping a weekly blog while I’m deployed in order to continue my writing and share my experiences with you.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns or general correspondence (of course care packages are welcome). I only ask that you leave all politics outside of this blog. I am a 26-year old woman who graduated college and wanted to serve her country and so I did. It is really as simple as that.
Now that you know a little of who I am I hope you enjoy a look at deployment through a young Lieutenant’s eyes. Thank you for reading and supporting me.

Just found your blog, Libby. Graduated from Antioch in December (Purple Martin, Fiction). I’ll be following your blog with interest.
Good luck, stay alert, come home.

When you said “Moving allows a person to forget the mistakes they made and move on; moving allows a person to forget how they hurt someone they loved. Moving allows a person to start fresh, not over. It allows me to forget and forgive and finally let things go. I can start new habits – for better or worse. Make new goals with a refreshed sense of momentum to accomplish them this time.” I personally agree with you on this and I need to change places too so that I move on down the road and forget the things that I did in school, out of school, and to other human beings.
